Commission devices, create activity and configure route

Putting devices into operation

After switching on the device by pressing the power button, your CHRONOS is in setup mode (setup trigger is shown on the display). This is suitable for the correct setting of the CHRONOS devices with the light barriers and the start bar.

In setup mode, plug the light barrier into one of the two ports on your CHRONOS . If the light barrier is not set correctly, your CHRONOS will emit a continuous acoustic signal. After correct adjustment (as soon as the light barrier is directed to the reflector) the acoustic signal stops and you can exit the setup mode with the green button.

The setup mode can also be used to test the start bar. To do this, plug the start bar into one of the two ports on your CHRONOS . When the bar is triggered, an acoustic signal is emitted as long as the bar is triggered. After successful testing of the start bar, simply switch back to the mode of Timing by pressing the green button. Once you have set up your devices, you can check the app in the track configuration to see if they are ready for the Timing .

Create activity

Evaluations are divided into activities in our webapp. It is recommended to create a separate activity for each testing.

Note: To create your own activity, you must own devices.

Navigate to the menu item "Activities" in the left column of the app and click on "Create new activity". To open the menu on your phone, press the 3 dashes in the upper right corner.

Press "Create new activity".

First choose a name for your activity and the Ski Testing module. Enter a start date and time and then click "Create".

Important: The evaluation only works if the start date and time have been selected correctly. Time measurements before the entered start date and time are ignored.

Afterwards please press "save".

Configure route

After creating your activity, you can configure your track. For this you have to press "Edit devices" under "Administration".

In the section "Timing" you can now select your devices under "Add new station". You must select at least two stations to be able to perform a measurement. Each of your devices has a serial number. With the help of this number and the displayed color you can see which device is located where. You can also see the status of your device by the status circle. You can move or remove stations:

Green: Your device is online and ready for measurements
Blue: Your device is in "Setup" mode.
Gray: Your device is not connected to the app.
Red: Your device has detected a possible error. This can be, for example, a light barrier that has been moved.

When you are satisfied with the setting press "save". Now the system is ready to perform measurements.

Note: If you don't see any results, make sure that you have set the devices to the "Timing" state. Also check the start date of your activity again. If your devices have not been turned on for a while, wait for a GPS fix.

Intermediate

By adding multiple devices, any number of split times can be used.

Reference time

A reference time can help you to ignore false triggers. If one or more split times are used, a reference time can be set for each section.

By clicking on the plus sign between your devices, you can set the expected time and the deviation. Below that, the time span in which the times may lie is displayed. All other triggers will be ignored

Example: A reference time of 45 seconds and a deviation of 10 seconds was set. The valid time range is now between 35-55 seconds.
