To turn on the CHRONOS , press and hold the power button for 3 seconds or plug in the charger (device will start in charging mode). To turn the device off, press and hold the power button again for 3 seconds. When the charger is plugged in, the device switches to charging mode.
The CHRONOS has the 3 possible operating states "Setup", "Timing" and "Charging". In all states, the display is dimmed after 30 seconds to save energy.
To charge the CHRONOS , plug a charger into one of the two sockets. The device can also be charged during operation.
Charging in operating state Timing
The device can be charged during a running timing session. However, the charger must be switched to the Setup operating state before it can be plugged in, in order to prevent it from being triggered incorrectly when it is plugged in. Afterwards, it is possible to switch back to the Timing operating state.
Charger connected to CHRONOS but not to the power socket
Permanently connecting a charger to CHRONOS without plugging it into the socket is not permitted, as undefined states can occur at the two pins Trigger 1 and Trigger 2.
Charging at cold temperatures
It is not possible to charge the device at temperatures below 3°C. This is due to the installed lithium-ion batteries, which can be damaged when charging at cold temperatures.
Storage
If you do not intend to use the device for a longer period of time, charge the battery to approx. 2/3. If the device is stored with a low battery level, this can lead to a deep discharge of the battery due to self-discharge and the device can no longer be switched on.
There are regular software updates. These are automatically displayed on your CHRONOS device and must be started with a green check mark. These take a few seconds. If you do not want to perform the update immediately, you can hide it with the X. The update will then be suggested again at a later time. The update will then be suggested again at a later time.
The CHRONOS devices are in permanent synchronization with the GPS clock time. This eliminates the need to synchronize the devices with each other.
